Welcome to the
Notre Dame Federation website, a networking initiative aimed at
reaching out to all past pupils of Notre Dame schools, both in the
UK and in places beyond. Each Notre Dame school has an association
of past pupils and each association is in turn, part of the British
Federation of Notre Dame (de Namur) Associations.
The Federation celebrated
the 75th anniversary of inauguration in 2003 and members were
honoured to be represented at the bicentenary of sisters in Namur
Belgium 1804.
If you are a former pupil
of Notre Dame, you will recall that the sisters mission was to
educate and foster the development of girls and young women in
order that they would take on a full and positive role in an everchanging
world. No doubt each of us can recall the name of a sister who
had a seminal influence in our early formative years at school.
We can name one (or more) close friendship made in those earlier
days who have gone on to share part, or all, of our own life's
journey. We are conscious of our understanding of the dignity
of womanhood and will have passed this on to our own. As past
pupils of the Notre Dame Sisters we can thankful for the many
graces and gifts bestowed on us because of our association with
the congregation.
